E.P.A MANDATE!
The E.P.A has mandated that all products containing refrigerant 22 will no longer be manufactured after January 1st 2010.
The E.P.A has also mandated that refrigerant 22 may no longer be manufactured after January 1st 2020.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU THE CONSUMER
This means that systems in some cases must be changed out to the new refrigerant 410A.
In some cases with a leaking evaporator coil you may be able to replace the evaporator coil and install a metering device designed for R22.
In other cases such as compressor burnouts where the system has been contaminated due to a major system failure, you will need to replace your system to the new upgraded 410A as R-22 equipment will not be available according to the E.P.A mandate.
On the bright side of things. You can rest assured knowing that by changing your system, you are doing your part to help save our environment.
You are now able to achieve efficiency levels that were unobtainable by the R-22 systems. This means lower electricity consumption and money back in your pocket.
